Right, title. There you have it.

So. Here I am again. One year (more!) of no writing after countless of promises. I think I've learned now, so I'll try a new approach. No more promises.

(a new thought just occurred; I did promise something about my writing, didn't I?)

Anyways. Obligatory update: I have a new obsession in the form of Doctor Who, I've just finished (somewhat) my first semester off university, and for the first time I'm having finals AFTER holidays. Yikes.

The hardest thing in the world

3 months. Whew, I'm really bad at keeping up with my goals, aren't I? Well, that's the thing about being consistent. It is the hardest thing to do. Period. Just a moment of laziness is all it needed to break one's consistency.

Anyways.

In my defense, these 3 months had been quite hectic. In the span of 3 months I've acquired my visa, sat for 15 hours long, moved into an entirely new country, and rent a chamber in said country. Now that I've somewhat settled down, I hope to continue my writing. (Key word: hope)

So, yeah, that's it for tonight. Until next time.

Mohon Dibantu..

Tolong, aku bingung.

Game of Thrones for Dummies

Recently I've been caught up in HBO's TV Series Game of Thrones. It all started when I was bored, and decided to google Billy Elliot's Dean Charles-Chapman, wondering where is he now. And surprise! I found out he's now a recurring cast on the series. And not just as anybody, his character is currently the king! So then, it snowballed and voila, here I am as a rookie fans of the series.

And as a lazy fans, instead of rewatching the series from the first season, I decided that I'd just surf the series' Wikia, to see what the series is about.

As it turns out, the series spans so widely, it took me more than a week of almost-nonstop Wikia surfing to grasp the stories in the series. Simply put, Game of Thrones isn't like any other fiction I've ever encountered, where there's mostly only one protagonist whose adventure we're following. In fact, GoT has soo many main characters who interact with each other so oftenly that I can't summarize the whole story easily.

GoT is, in short, a story mostly about political chaos in a nation called The Seven Kingdom with a touch of mythical threat because what's a medieval fiction without magic?

The chaos I mentioned above is sparked by a number of things. First, the crowning of King Joffrey Baratheon. The crowning itself wouldn't be a problem, if only Joffrey isn't a psycho. Second, the truth about Joffrey's parentage. As it turns out, Joffrey was actually son of Queen Cersei and her twin brother Jamie Lannister. He was not the true son of late King Robert Baratheon. That's why Robert's younger brothers claim the throne for themselves.

Third, despite Joffrey's psychotic tendencies, it still came out of surprise when he ordered the execution of Lord Eddard Stark, who had pleaded guilty. This caused Eddard's son and heir, Lord Robb Stark, to proclaim himself as king too. And and the fourth reason of the political chaos is Lady Daenerys Targaryen, the last heir to the exiled House Targaryen. House Targaryen is the Royal House before Robert rebels against it's last king, Lord Aerys Targaryen. And now, Daenerys has hatched three dragons, whose species were previously thought extinct. With her dragons, she had started to conquer cities nearest her exile location and coming nearer to The Seven Kingdom.

As for the mythical threat, the series is set in the fictional continent Westeros. In Westeros, seasons can lasts for years or even decades. The Maesters, or scholars, speculates that the seasons' unnatural length also came from an unnatural source. These source were told to be creatures called The White Walkers. Many believed that these creatures are just stories. And those who do believe they exists also believed that they have been extinct for thousands of years. So it came as a surprise when at the first season, The White Walkers were shown to be back. And with the brewing civil war in The Seven Kingdoms, The Night's Watch, who guarded The Wall, which was an impossibly big wall structure built to separate The Seven Kingdoms and the wild Northern areas, are outmanned badly.

And as I said above, the series spans very widely. Those threats I explained before were just a fraction of the stories. But anyway, another thing that differentiate GoT from other fictions  are the character deaths. While other fictions have little if any deaths occurring to the main characters, in GoT you can expect a death of your beloved characters in every few episodes.

That being said, I'd really recommended this series for you fiction lovers anywhere. A little warning though, this series are not meant for kids, so don't be surprised by the amount of vulgarity in it. And prepare your heart, because no character is save from an unexpected death. And finally, Brace yourself, Winter is Coming.

Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 2

So. Finally I'm able to force my lazy self to sit down and write again. Well, I'm planing to post a rambling on where the heck I've been gone. Let's just hope I didn't lose my drive to write that one..

Now, back to the topic. So far, Marvel movies has been great. But The Phase 2 movies are just, excuse the pun, MARVELous!

Let's start with the films. The first movie in Phase 2 was Iron Man 3. It's an amazing movie, really different than the previous 2 Iron Man movies in aspect that this is the first film in which the antagonist isn't another man in a suit. No, this villain stripped Tony of his suit and his many resources. And yet, Tony still proved that without his suit, without all his toys and money, He is Iron Man. But he doesn't just stop there! In the previous months, after sleepless nights thanks to nightmares, Tony spend most, if not all, of his time in his lab, creating suits after suits reaching to his 42nd suit just before the event of the movie. This results in a straining of relationship between him and Pepper Potts. However, at the end of the movie, he initiated the House Party Protocol, blowing all of his Iron Man Suits. Conclusion: All Iron Man Suits were destroyed.

The second released movie was Thor 2: The Dark World. Honestly, most of my reason on watching this movie was just to see, what happened to Loki? The famed villain that brought The Avengers for the first time was last seen to be bought to Asgard to face Asgardian court. In this movie, we learn that he was kept cative in Odin's dungeon. However, when Asgard was threatened with a foe older than The All-Father himself, Thor, The Warrior Three, and Heimdall worked together behind Odin's back to get help from Loki. The foe, The Dark Elves, was proven to be a very dangerous one, seemingly making Loki killed when he tried to help Thor. But Loki stands true to his title, The God of Lie. He actually survived and returned to Asgard in disguise. In the end of the movie, Odin congratulates Thor on his actions and, despite his treason by freeing Loki, offered the throne to Thor.. Thor refused, and stated that he'd like to stay on Earth, spending time with Jane Foster. After he leaves, however, it was revealed that Odin was actually Loki, having projecting illusion of Odin on himself. Conclusion: The Villain of The Avengers movie is now controlling one of the most powerful throne in the nine realms.

The latest film released by Marvel was Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. After 2 movies without it's presence, S.H.I.E.L.D. comes back in this movie. In fact, this movie deals mostly with S.H.I.E.L.D.. Long story short, S.H.I.E.L.D. was compromised for decades, long before the events of MCU's first movie. The movie reveals that after getting caught in Captain America: The First Avenger, HYDRA Scientist Arnim Zola was invited to join a newly built S.H.I.E.L.D.. He accepted, and used that opportunity to smuggle many HYDRA agents into S.H.I.E.L.D.. Ever since, HYDRA hid inside S.H.I.E.L.D., fueling many conflicts all around the world. S.H.I.E.L.D. officers that almost caught HYDRA was murdered in such a way that it was always thought as an accident. Even Nick Fury was seemingly killed when he gets suspicious. Fortunately, he survived but chooses to be believed dead. To stop HYDRA, Captain America must go into S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarter The Triskelion and stop Project INSIGHT, with the help of an Army Officer Sam Wilson, who was also known as Falcon, and Black Widow. He must also go against The Winter Soldier, a mysterious HYDRA Assassin who turned out to be Cap's long lost, brain-washed friend Bucky Barnes. And to stop HYDRA's uses of S.H.I.E.L.D. assets, S.H.I.E.L.D. was also brought down, all it's secrets revealed to the world. Conclusion: S.H.I.E.L.D. no longer exists.

And finally, the show that tied them all. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started out just like a normal TV Series. A short plot and a new villains each week. I've even read some reviews stating that it's downright boring! Sure, it has two main plots, Agent Phil Coulson's resurrection after his death in Marvel's The Avengers, and newcomer Skye's origin. But for many viewers, the movie was uneventful compared to other Marvel Movies. However, it turns out that this series was just bidding it's time, building and setting up things before the release of the shocking The Winter Soldier. Once HYDRA comes out, it was an all out war. Specifically, episodes 16 till finale was, for me, not  a TV series, but a Cinema Movie. As their twitter claims, #itsallconnected. If anything, the series opens up, concludes, and reopens more mysteries than most of the movies. And it's really nice to see what happened after S.H.I.E.L.D. collapsed, and who will lead the effort to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from scratch. Conclusion: The world loses a hero's protective suits, it's shield, and The King of Asgard is MIA. But that's okay, because S.H.I.E.L.D.'s director Phil Coulson is ready to save the day!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To date, the published films are Iron Man 3, Thor 2: The Dark World, and Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. Still in production are Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Oh, and let's not forget the TV Serial Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to-be-released Agent Carter, and the Oneshots, Agent Carter and All Hail The King.

PS: I haven't actually seen the Oneshots, but I certainly planned to do just that.

Tumblr

So I guess I owe you guys an update on where did I disappear these past week?

Well, other than the fact that I don't even know if anyone ever bothered to read my little updates, I'm actually pretty busy.

As I probably had (or hadn't) mentioned in here somewhere before, I'm in my last year of High School. and this week was the first of my last tests in high school. So, yeah, pretty busy.

On the other hand, just yesterday, I made a Tumblr. It's http://daziythewriterwannabe.tumblr.com/ but I don't highly suggest you check it out right now. It's still empty. Totally empty. I actually plan on giving my one-sentence updates there, and leave this blog for lengthy posts.

So that's all for tonight. I was going to write a fiction of a princess from a psycho alien race, but life happens. I should've known none of my classmates is that loyal.

Auf wiederschen.

Writing Advices

So 5 days ago I wrote the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons. In that post, I mentioned a few stories that I found really interesting. One of them was a story by LegendaryRaconteuse.

Well actually, other than her amazing story, she also gave some writing advices, some I actually found very useful. After getting her permission, I decided to share it here. Enjoy.

NEWS Report

This year is still young, and yet, there's already a quite amount of news.

First was the arrest of one and only Justin Drew Bieber.
Although I'm not really surprised, what with all his recent shenanigans, his arrest is still interesting. When I heard the news, all I could think was 'Finally!'. I actually liked him a lot, he was a good kid. Was. I don't know what changed him, but he's changed a lot. And not in the good way.

Anyway, another thing that caught my attention was Bill Nye and Ken Ham's debate over the origin of universe. While I don't see it myself, hours of browsing 9GAG had given me enough to understand that it's a very interesting debate.

And another thing that I found from 9GAG is Sochi's Winter Olympics. Those posts in 9GAG highlights two interesting facts. One is the missing ring of the Olympic Logo in the opening ceremony. Another is Sochi's unpreparedness (which, I just found was actually a word because Blogger's spellcheck didn't correct) in hosting an international event.

But enough of the international news.

From Indonesia, most, if not all of the news is about the natural disasters. From Jakarta's flood, whose news eclipsed that of Sinabung, to the latest news, the eruption of Kelud. From what I heard, it's dust have almost reached my hometown. Let's pray that it won't get worse.
